Cascade Lakes Welcome Station

The Bend Trails Blog

Your Gateway to Recreation

The new Cascade Lakes Welcome Station opened on March 18th of 2016 and offers a lot of amenities for locals and visitors looking to explore the area. Located on the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, you can stop in for maps, recreation and sno-park passes, interpretive guides and information about the Deschutes National Forest. The Welcome Station is now offering Firewood Permits for the 2016 season. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As part of the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station project, trails in the area are being enhanced and re-routed to accommodate visitor traffic and provide an ‘easy’ route to the Phil’s trail area. Most trail work has been on hold due to logging operations in 2016 — but hopefully will resume in the Fall when the West Bend Restoration Project wraps up.

Some of the new mountain bike trails which have been completed (or are in the works) include the COD Reroute as well as Catch and Release, and Ticket to Ride.

Keep an eye on the BendTrails Facebook page where we’ll post updates as they become available.
