Trail Description

E-bikes NOT allowed on Heart Lake

Heart Lake Trail is an out-and-back which branches off from where Browder Ridge turns into Gate Creek Trail. This is a steep trail which starts out in old growth and meanders through a meadow before topping out on the ridge above Heart Lake. The meadow in enchanting with wildflowers in the early summer.

Of the 3 trails in this area, this is the least bike friendly. Needs some attention. The turn left at the top of the trail takes you on a social/user trail and comes out near the top of the rocky ridge. Amazing views in all directions. Leave your bike near the bottom and hike up the rest of the way when you get to this point.

      closed per fire map

    2. DirtMagnet says:

No deadfall, but a couple of bar-spinning micros trees are in play on the narrow and exposed final traverse to the Heart Lk saddle. The short descent back to Gate Cr trail is in good form.

    3. Joe Myers says:

Still snow on trail and tons of snow heading down to lake. Most logs cleared but a large pile up is near the end. We didn’t make it that far due to time and snow

    4. Joe Myers says:

14 down trees most near the bottom. Most in need of a chainsaw.
