Riding well. 1 medium tree down about a mile south of Lemish. In the burn near Lemish, plenty of pokey branches that need cutting back as well.

Trail Description

 E-bikes NOT allowed on Metolius-Windigo (99)

The Metolius-Windigo trail is over 100 miles long and begins in the north at the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness and runs all the way south to Windigo Pass near Crescent Lake. To minimize confusion the “Met-Win” trail — as it’s often called — is broken into distinct segments each with its own character.

This 6 1/2 mile segment is usually ridden as part of the Charlton-Lemish Loop or as a connection to the Twins or Waldo Lake trails. Old growth forest awaits at the Southern end of this segment, and transitions to new growth lodgepole pine along the Northern section of the trail. These lodgepole are so thin they tend to buckle under snow loads and wind and bent down over the trail in the early summer months until a sawyer comes through.

This trail is maintained by Central Oregon Trail Alliance.

Riding well. Recommend riding this out and back with Twins, and avoiding burned wasteland on Charlton Lake #19 on the north side of loop.

    2. Ed Willson says:

Cleared from Charlton to 4290 on 7/10/22

    3. Joe Myers says:

trail is clear per Oregon Timber trail campout.

    4. Alex Marganski says:

lemish to 4290 has one or two trees down. A little sandy from horse traffic

    5. Mike Schmeiske says:

Wildfire activity near the Clover Meadow junction for the Charlton fire that is currently at 19 acres, I would avoid this area for now. I also believe that the 4290 road is closed, but unconfirmed.

      1. Joe Myers says:

Not sure on closures but good news is fire was put out late last night

        1. Mike Schmeiske says:

Contained, yes. Mop up and operations are still continuing.

    6. Joe Myers says:

I believe the Southern section from Twins to Clover meadow has been cleared per waldo100k/PCTA. Need confirmation
