E-bikes NOT allowed on Larison Rock
Larison Rock is a really fun downhill trail — and by downhill we mean: no climbing (I guess you could climb it, but I prefer to ride up the road and take the trail back down.). It’s fast and flowy with enough rooty and rocky bits to keep your speed in check — but it’s not really a ‘flow-style’ trail, it’s more of an old-school hand-built trail. Like most of the trails in Oakridge, it’s covered in a thick canopy of old growth fir, hemlock, cedar, maple, and ferns and you can expect some poison oak along the way.
report from ranger:
is clear. Its best to access Larison (or exit) from Greenwaters Park via the new trail that goes up to 5852 from the Greenwaters bridge. Later this summer the other big trailhead will be closed for at least a month for work on the power lines above that trailhead. People pedal up the 5852 road to 2102 and that won’t be possible while BPA has the road closed.
Larison Rock is clear and in good shape.
Riding great! Really nice right now with perfect soil conditions.
